Subscription context: Token counts reflect usage against Claude Max and Codex subscription limits — not pay-per-token API billing. Focus on usage windows (today / week) to assess how much of your subscription capacity is being used. Anthropic and OpenAI do not expose subscription limit data via API for non-admin accounts.
